Cedar Rapids
Cynthia Ann (Musgrove) Sallis, 69, of Cedar Rapids passed on from this world, to join her sons, Jack and Daniel, on February 14, 2024, with her granddaughter, Adrianna by her side. Cindy was born February 17, 1954, to Robert Musgrove and Barbara (Fernandez) Musgrove in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Cindy grew up in Cedar Rapids and raised her three children there.
Cindy will always be remembered for her beautiful, radiant smile that could light up a room. Her ability to fall so gracefully, made it look as if they were choreographed by a stunt coordinator! If you know, you know! Throughout our lives we will recall hearing her bossy words of wisdom starting with “What you need to do is . . . .” And least we not forget, those iconic red Sally Jesse Raphel style glasses that framed her sparkling blue eyes.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Robert Musgrove and Barbara Wright, sons Daniel Sallis and Jack Gibson, brother John Musgrove, sisters April Johnson and Marji Ross, and dear friend, Roxie Hall.
She is survived by daughter, Briana Patterson; grandchildren, Taylor Habte (Fil), Austin Jackson, Adrianna Patterson, Autumn Gibson, Dyuntae and Erin Jackson; great-grandchildren, Salena Wright, Aminah and Amari Habte; siblings, Sandra Musgrove, Scott Musgrove (Diana), Dyane Musgrove, all of Cedar Rapids, and Carolyn Wright-Marietta (Scott) of Maine; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We extend our love and gratitude to Cynthia’s “special daughter” Shondra Matthews, and beloved lifelong friends, Jackie Doolin, Marcia Kelly, and Patty Redmond.
Our family would like to commend Sandra Musgrove for the love, compassion, and dedication that she gave to Cindy in the months prior to and during her illness. You honored her in life and death. Thank you.
Cynthia Ann insisted on the family’s royal treatment, as such she will forever be remembered as the “Queen” she was.
