Curtis, Lorton H. (Joe)
CEDAR RAPIDS - Lorton H. (Joe) Curtis, 85, of Northbrook Manor, died there Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Per Joe's request there will be no public visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Margery; three children, Larry of Cedar Rapids, Joyce (Larry) Keyes of Center Point and Lorton E. of Olathe, Kan.; and one brother, Lynn of Washington state. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Joe was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Wayne County, Iowa, the son of Joel and Etta (Hart) Curtis. He married Margery M. Blake on March 16, 1945, in Burlington. They moved to Cedar Rapids and he worked for 35 years for Kwik-Way, retiring in 1986.
