Curtis O. Kruse, 73, of Calmar, died Saturday,
July 19, 2014, at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse, Wis. Private services will be held at Tuecke-Allyn
Funeral Home in Garnavillo. Burial will be in Garnavillo Community Cemetery, Garnavillo.
Curtis Otto Kruse was born the son of Alfred and Anita (Hakert) Kruse on March 2, 1941, near Garber. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elkport in 1941 and was confirmed at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Preston in 1954. He graduated in 1958 from Garnavillo High School, attended college and farmed with his family for many years.
On June 20, 1970, Curtis was united in marriage with Lucinda Kremenak at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Dubuque. He enjoyed spending time with family, model trains, the great outdoors, playing guitar and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clark and Clyde; and a brother-in-law, Carroll Harbaugh.
Survivors include his wife, Lucinda of Calmar; a daughter, Becky (Jeremy) Walz of Calmar; a son, Kyle (fiancee Tennie Shover) Kruse of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Alex,
Andre, Ashley and Allison Walz; a sister, Arlene Harbaugh of Garnavillo; three sisters-in-law, Janet Kruse, Charlotte Gockel and Colleen Terry; and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Garnavillo.
