Curry, Justis D.R.
Justis D. R. Curry, 4-month-old son of Brandy Merfeld and Nathan Curry of Monticello, died unexpectedly Friday, May 7, 2010, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello, with burial in the church cemetery.
Justis was born at 6:33 p.m. Jan. 1, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. The perfect little baby came too early, and the perfect little angel left too soon.
Surviving are his parents, Nathan and Brandy; three sisters, Riley and Darian Curry of Iowa City and Ashley Husmann at home; maternal grandmother, Amy Bartels of Monticello; paternal grandparents, David and Maggie Curry of Cascade; great-grandfather, Carl Merfeld of Monticello; great-great-grandmother, Evelyn Knockel of Cascade; great-grandparents, Kenneth and Virginia Curry of Pikeville, Ky.; uncles and aunts, Cris (Staci) Bartels of Monticello, Erick (Kelle) Bartels of Yakota AFB, Japan, Ashly and Kayla Fagen, both of Anamosa, Steven Curry of Highland Park, Ill., Ann (Tyler) Monthey of Dubuque and Christopher (Jill) Curry of Marion; 10 first cousins, Logan, Kila, Cameron, Dominick, Jaylyn, Coleman, Vanessa, Mya, Eli and Rory; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger D. Bartels; great-grandmother, Peggy Lewis-Merfeld; and great-grandparents, Ed and Priscilla Bahl.
Memorials are preferred.
