Curry, Helen 'Faye'
Helen "Faye" Curry, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at the Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon. Per Faye's wishes her body has been cremated. Private family services are pending with Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son Danny (Sue) Curry of Lomita, Calif.; two daughters, Roxy (Robert) Draker, and Candy (Ed) Horn, both of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a sister Peg Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband W.F. "Dan" Curry; and an infant daughter Christy Ann.
Helen Faye Umphenour was born May 29, 1919, in Humansville, Mo., the daughter of Roy and Maude (Stewart) Umphenour. She marred W.F. "Dan" Curry on April 6, 1940, in Muscatine. Dan passed away on April 26, 2003. Faye was employed with Rockwell Collins before her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the Cedar Rapids St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Mount Vernon Hallmark Care Center in Faye's name.
