Cunningham, Donald
Donald Cunningham, 79, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, at his home in Ankeny. A rosary will be held at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, April 26, followed by visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. vigil service at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church. Memorial mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at OLIH, 510 E. First St., Ankeny.
Don was born Dec. 31, 1932, to Thomas and Elsie (Hansen) Cunningham in Cedar Rapids. Don served in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha Cunningham; children, Kevin (Sally) Cunningham, Mark (Kathi) Cunningham, Kelly (John) Hicks, Sally (Toby) Scully, Mike Cunningham, Sean (Renee) Hokel and Shannon (Jeff) Burright; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Mary (Bob) Schmidt, Sue (Steve) Kullander and Cathy (Thom) Rawson; and brothers, Tom (Louise) Cunningham and John (Mary Ann) Cunningham.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sally Sattler; brother, Richard Cunningham; and his infant brother, Michael.
