Culp, David Albert Jr.
David Albert Culp Jr. passed beyond this world and into the heavenly spirit Oct. 2, 2012. He was 59 years old. In recent months, David's health declined significantly. According to his wishes the family brought him home. His last days were warm and bright and he left us peacefully. He had been a resident of Vashon Island, Wash., since 1997.
David was born June 22, 1953, in Iowa City. He was the son of David A. and Anna (Keiser) Culp.
David is survived by his wife, Crystal; and his beloved children, David Albert III, Kaitlin and Sarah Culp; and Crystal's two sons, Lucas and Julian Lorenzo; his sisters, Roberta and Marylin; and brothers, Matthew and Tom Culp.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
While David did not stay for a very long time, he did have a big life with many chapters. He was a devoted father, a film director, an editor, a gifted teacher, a spiritual mentor, a natural leader with perfect comic timing. He touched many lives in this world.
David's life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Nov. 1 at St. Mark's Cathedral in Seattle, Wash.
Donations in his honor can be made to the Church of the Holy Spirit on Vashon Island or to the Northwest Kidney Centers in Seattle.
