CRYSTAL KAY SLACH
West Branch
Crystal Kay Slach, 55, of rural West Branch, Iowa, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at Hope Church, Tipton. Burial will follow in West Branch City Cemetery, West Branch. A general memorial fund has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.
Crystal was born on Dec. 29, 1962, in Muscatine, Iowa, and was the daughter of Richard Leroy and Jene Candace Slach. Crystal graduated from Solon High School in 1981 and attended Kirkwood Community College. Crystal worked throughout her life in the service industry at various hotels, restaurants and other businesses.
Crystal enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a lifelong cat lover and has had too many in her life to list their names here. Crystal cherished her nieces, Jade, Navella, Jocelyn, Olivia and Winter; and nephews, Ben and Ethan. Crystal called Hope Church of Tipton her home and faithfully attended when her health permitted.
Crystal is survived by her father, Richard "Dick" Slach of West Branch, and her mother, Candace "Candy" (Dan) Cookes of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; sisters, Stacy (Tim) Jones of West Branch, Nicole (Mario) Sanchez of Port Orange, Fla., and Tawna (John) King of St. Louis, Mo.; and brother, Steve (Jodie) Slach of Bettendorf, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, whom she also cherished.
