Crowley, Mary Jane
UPDATED Mary Jane Crowley, 87, passed away Aug. 7, 2010, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's Church in Hopkinton, where visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today and a Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with visitation starting at 9. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Castle Grove. Goettsch Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; children and spouses, Terry (Carol) Crowley, Coggon, Bonnie (Jim) Thomas and Becky (Joe) Peiffer, Marion; her grandchildren, Susan (Gregg) Scharnau, Jeff (Tina) Thomas, Scott (Jill) Crowley, Brian Crowley and Austin, Mike and David Peiffer; and great-grandchildren, Harry, Tucker and Lucy Thomas, Dylan, Lia and Henry Scharnau and Chantel Crowley. She is also survived by her sisters and in-laws, Rae Ann Wickman, Virginia Supple, Gerry Huber and LaVerne and Mary Jane Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas; and brothers-in-law, Ray Wickman, Justin Supple and Pat Huber.
Mary Jane Lahey was born to Alfred and Rachael (Anglin) Lahey on Nov. 8, 1922, at Farley, Iowa. They moved to Castle Grove in 1923. She attended country school and graduated from Buck Creek High School in 1940. After attending Lenox College, she taught in local schools. She married Harold Crowley on Aug. 16, 1945. The couple farmed in the Castle Grove area until 1975 when they moved to Hopkinton.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Good Neighbor Home and family and friends for their care, visits and support.
