Crossett, Douglas A. 'Doug'

Douglas A. “Doug” Crossett, 53, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Mercy Iowa City following a one month illness. Celebration of life services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the United Methodist Church in Washington, with Pastor Jim Stiles and the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Doug is survived by his wife, Kim of Washington; daughter, Kayla Beatty and husband Sam of Washington; sister, Donna Swartzendruber and husband Rick of Wayland; aunt, Charlotte Pencil-Magdefrau and husband Richard of Washington; aunt, Donna Fisher and husband Dick of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law, Phyllis Scheeler and husband Gary of Brighton; brother-in-law, Michael Allred of Wayland; and brother-in-law, Chad Allred and wife Mary of Kalona.

Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church or the Brighton United Church.
