Cronbaugh, Annie Mae
Annie Mae Cronbaugh, 63, of Marengo, Iowa, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by family, following a brief illness. Survivors include her husband, Tim; sons, the Rev. Michael Langer and wife Tess of Iowa City, Thomas Langer of Iowa City and Joshua Meskimen and wife Crystal of Cedar Rapids; stepdaughter, Tracy Cronbaugh of Waterloo; grandchildren, Josie, Libby, Owen and Phoebe Langer and Dylan and Kylie Meskimen; a brother, Dr. David S. Keisler Jr. and wife Jane of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Mary Helen Dorn and husband Steve of Greenwood, S.C.; and a second husband, Jerry Meskimen of Ely, who remained best friend.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Katherine Anne Meskimen.
Born Sept. 27, 1946, in Greenwood, S.C., Annie was the daughter of Retired Colonel David and Ann (Miller) Keisler. In October 2001, she was united in marriage to Tim Cronbaugh. She worked as a social worker and CNA. Throughout her life she had lived in Newberry, S.C., Anchorage, Alaska, Ravenna, Ohio, Monterey, Calif., Rabat, Morocco, Ames and Mount Vernon, Iowa.
Annie's joys were making floral arrangements and crafts, baking, making dream catchers, and spending time in the outdoors and on the river. Annie lived by her own rules and was a hippie at heart.
Graveside service: 11 a.m., Thursday at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Mount Vernon. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Mount Vernon Cemetery.
