Crock, Donald E.
Donald E. Crock, 81, of Tipton, died on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of declining health. A family rosary service will be held Wednesday, at 3 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home and the public visitation will follow from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton, with Rev. David Hitch officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tipton. Memorials may be given to the Tipton Senior Dining Center. Online condolences may also be shared at www.fry

Donald is survived by his wife, Marianne Crock of Tipton; daughters, Rosemary Crock and husband, Linden Appel of Topeka, Kan., and Jo Ann Crock of the Washington State area; sons, James (Marlene) Crock of Rensselaer, N.Y., and John (Kelley) Crock of Manchester; sisters, Lorna Marchik and Mary Jean (John) Bents of Tipton; brother, James (Mary Louise) Crock of Tipton; Marianne's children, Greg (Linda) Hulbert, Cathy (Mike) Boyes and Deb Andregg, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Kevin Crock, Brian Appel, Katherine Appel, Steven Crock, Sarah Walker, Megan Crock, Katie Crock, Matt Hulbert, Seth Hulbert, John Hulbert, Justin Andregg and Jace Andregg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Crock, wife, Mary Eileen Crock on Feb. 10, 1997, brother, Raymond Crock, Jr. on April 6, 2004, brother-in-law, Robert L. Marchik on March 5, 1993, and niece, Cynthia Bents on Sept. 21, 2006.
Donald, son of Raymond L. and Dorothy A. Brennen Crock, Sr. was born April 25, 1928 in Iowa City. He was a 1946 graduate of Tipton High School. Donald was married to Mary Eileen Fitzpatrick on Feb. 11, 1950 in Arlington, Ill., and after her death he married Marianne Prochaska on July 25, 1998 in Tipton. Donald farmed 17 years in Arlington, Ill., and 30 years in Masonville, Iowa. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Livestock Feeders, Corn Growers Association, a past Church Trustee and was previously a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Masonville and was a current member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Tipton. Donald's kind and gentle manner will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
