Crisman, Thomas Drayton
Thomas Drayton Crisman, 63, of Martinez, Ga., entered into rest Thursday, July 23, 2009. He died at home after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was cremated according to his wishes. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Thom, son of Eugene and Mary (Wyckoff) Crisman, was born on April 10, 1946, in Vinton. He graduated from the Vinton High School in 1964. He attended the University of Dubuque and the University of Iowa. He was united in marriage to Judith Milz on July 5, 1969, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cresco.
Tom was a computer assisted designer, working on power projects in Chicago, Michigan, Ohio, and the Savanna River Project (Bechtel) in South Carolina. He retired in 2004. Tom was also a silversmith and a "rock hound" who enjoyed collecting interesting rocks, semi-precious and precious stones, and creating beautiful jewelry of his own design.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy; and his three daughters and grandchildren, Stefanie (Marcus) Fountain of Kennesa, Ga.; Alyssa (Gordon) White, and children, Treyce and Lacy, of Warrenville, S.C.; and Emily Meeks and children, Marena and Hannah of Martinez, Ga; his mother; and two sisters, Claudia (James) Prange of Franklin, Tenn., and Teresa (Richard) Noe of Garrison. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Jessie Milz of Cresco; aunt, Lillian Chrisman of Vinton; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; his father-in-law, Joe Milz; and infant daughter, Jennifer.
