Crinigan Sr., John Martin
John Martin Crinigan Sr., 68, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, died of cancer Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff–Grarup Funeral Services on South Street in Waterloo, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 138 and VF W Post 1623. Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight and one hour before services Friday at the funeral home on South Street.
He is survived by two sons, John Martin Crinigan Jr. and Daniel (Rachael) Crinigan, both of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Levi, Blake and Brenna Crinigan; a brother, Richard (Lila) Crinigan of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Nancy (Robert) Royer of Mount Vernon; a sister-in-law, Annette Crinigan of Evansdale; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William.

He was born Aug. 19, 1941, in Waterloo, son of Bernard and Linea Anderson Crinigan. He married Sandy Sauer on Sept. 3, 1967. They were later divorced. John graduated from Columbus High School in 1959. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and later was an over-the-road truck driver for WIX Trucking, retiring in 2008.
