Crawford, Jeanette Elaine
Jeanette Elaine Crawford Schwarz passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at home. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Pastor Linda Livingston officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jeanette married Roger Schwarz on July 3, 1946, at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Roosevelt, Kirkwood and attended the University of Iowa. She worked at Schaefer Jewelry, Gail Industries, John Hancock, Penneys and Cedar Memorial. She was an accomplished artist and a member of Creative Artists, PWN, Toastmasters, First Lutheran Church and Friend of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church. Jeanette enjoyed art, especially painting people, and working at Cedar Memorial.
Survivors are daughter, Rogette (Jim) Steele; son, Charles B. Schwarz; three grandchildren, Bret Levesque, Traci (Brock) Neff and Renee Schwarz; and great-granddaughter, Zoe Neff.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Leslie and Alice Crawford; and brother, Philip Crawford.
Jeanette was a charming, beautiful lady, with a witty, dry humor. She listened to her family and friends with an understanding heart and shared her wisdom and love freely.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Redeemer and First Lutheran Churches, St. Luke's or Mercy Hospices.
