Crandall, Kristie Ann Weber
Kristie Ann Weber Crandall, 47, died from cancer in her Mechanicsville home, surrounded by her family. Kristie's visitation and viewing will be Sunday, Nov. 27, from 2 until 6 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. Kristie's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church by Pastor Barb Krueger. Kristie will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.
Kristie is survived by her two daughters, Callie and Cammie; her significant other of 10 years, Matt Pruess; mother, Sophie Weber; two sisters, Peggy (Keith) Beck, Mechanicsville, and Shelly (Jay) Albaugh, Waverly; two brothers, David (Kris), Anamosa, and Rick (Tonya), Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
Kristie was preceded in death by her father, Merle; and sister, Kathy Weber.
Kristie was born at the family home in Mechanicsville on May 26, 1964, the daughter of Merle and Sophie (Groen) Weber. She graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1982. Kristie attended Kirkwood Community College, where she earned an associate degree in nursing.
For over 25 years, Kristie worked in intensive care and later as a patient care coordinator at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
She was active in the community as a Girl Scout leader and coached youth t-ball, basketball, and softball. Kristie was a member of the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church.
Kristie was a caring, loving person. Her girls and Matt were the loves of her life. She was called “Mom” by many of Callie and Cammie's friends.
Kristie loved her cats, road trips with Matt on the Harley, dark chocolate, traveling, shopping, and “snuggling” with her daughters. Kristie‘s focus and joy in life was helping others - that's just who she was.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established and may be sent to the Kristie Crandall Memorial Fund, Attn: Rick Weber, Wells Fargo Bank, 150 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401.
