Cozine, Robert 'Bob' S.
Robert “Bob” S. Cozine, 55, of Iowa City, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in Princeton, Ill., following a heart attack. Funeral services to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be at the Cozine Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the Bob Cozine Memorial Fund had been established for diabetes and heart research. Bob was also an organ donor.Bob was born July 25, 1955, in Iowa City, the son of Ralph and Lorena Rogers Cozine. He was a 1973 graduate of West Branch High School and received his Associate degree from Kirkwood Community College. Bob married Theresa Naughton on May 28, 1977, at St. Patrick's Church in Iowa City.Bob was employed as a manager of the East Campus Maintenance Zone, Building and Landscape Services at the University of Iowa.Bob was a motocross race enthusiast. He was a gifted mechanic, “hobby” farmer, hunter and conservationist. Bob was a member of Whitetails Unlimited and the Iowa City Competition Riders. He was a regular donor and volunteer for the Mississippi Valley Blood Bank. Bob was also a long time Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinal fan.Bob was a loving husband, father and brother. He was proud to become a grandfather with the arrival of Tanner.Bob is survived by his wife, Theresa and their two daughters, Angela (Jeff) Miller of Solon, and Marissa Cozine of Iowa City; one grandson, Tanner Miller; two brothers, Richard (Charlotte) Cozine of North Liberty, and Roger (Mary Ann) Cozine of Iowa City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack (Nola) Naughton, Tom Naughton, Joe (Sonnie) Naughton, all of Iowa City, Dick (Irene) Naughton, Randy (Sharon) Naughton, Dan (Shirley) Naughton, all of Phoenix, Ariz., Phil (Denise) Naughton of Waterloo, Sheryl (Pat) Murphy of Cedar Bluff, Francine (Mike) Abboud of Chicago, and Don (Deb) Naughton of Solon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his in-lawsm Gerald and Eileen Naughton; sister-in-law Donna Naughton; and niece, Erin Naughton.Online condolences may be sent to
