Couser, John Robert
John Robert Couser, 59, of Marion, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor Mike Morgan. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela; his brothers and sisters, Charles (Linda) Couser, Michael (Kathy) Couser, Patrick (Rebecca) Couser and Susan (Rick) Enyart, all of Cedar Rapids, and Jane (Curt) Hale of Rochester, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John was born May 22, 1950, the son of Charles and Margaret (Williams) Couser in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 38 years. John married Pamela Shriver on June 21, 1991 in Maui, Hawaii. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved playing golf and fishing. John was a Hawkeye fan and also enjoyed playing cards.
A memorial fund has been established in John's memory.
