Costello, Joseph 'Joe' Paul

Joseph “Joe” Paul Costello, 44, of Waterloo, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center from complications of a spinal cord injury. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and one hour before services on Saturday.

Joseph was born Oct. 2, 1965, in Anamosa, the son of John “Jack” and Loretta Wright Costello. He married Theresa Gruman on Aug. 25, 1990, in Monticello. He was employed as a telephone representative for Ruppman Marketing, now known as Affina. Joe enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, watching Dallas Cowboys football games, NASCAR races, and bowling on the Wii.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa of Waterloo; his mother, Loretta of Anamosa; a daughter, Mandi (Ryan) Husmann of Monticello; four grandchildren, Skyleigh, Kyler, Alyvia, Kaesyn Husman; two brothers, John (Susan) Costello of Cedar Rapids and Jim (Evelyn) Costello of Anamosa; two sisters, Jena Takes and Jan (Loren) Siebels, all of Anamosa.

Joe was preceded in death by his father; and nephew, Stevie Takes.
