Cory, Evelyn M.
Evelyn M. Cory, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Feb. 8, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
She was born March 30, 1935, and lived her entire life in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding area. Evelyn was an avid sports fan and dog lover. She enjoyed watching the Cubs, Bears and Hawkeyes and loved fishing and classic country music. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Norman W. Cory.
Survivors include her four children, Robert (Rita) Core, Sherry (Gene) Lewis, Kenny Core and Mike (Sherry) Core; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren, all who brought her great joy.
A memorial fund has been established. Contributions are welcome and should be mailed to Sherry Core, 534 Zelda Dr. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405.
