Corbett, Dorothy
Dorothy Corbett, 102, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services.

Dorothy Arlene Miles was born July 18, 1909, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of Sidney and Augusto Polzine Miles. She graduated from the Cedar Rapids High School in 1929. She then went to work for the Stickford Drug Store where she met her future husband, Royal. Dorothy Miles and Royal Corbett were married on April 3, 1938, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The couple moved to Monticello, where Royal managed the family greenhouse. In 1940, they moved to Shenandoah where they worked in a greenhouse and were floral designers. In 1954, they returned to Monticello and opened Corbett's Floral. They operated the business until 1967, when they retired.
Royal preceded her in death on March 27, 1991.
