Copeland, Garry D.
Garry D. Copeland, 66, died early Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Crestview Acres Care Center, Marion, following a long illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, by Rev. William Jamison of Eden United Church of Christ. Burial at a later date at Czech National Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
Garry is survived by six children, Garry (Becky), Dina (Mike), Kelly, Daniel (Jennifer), Carry (Don) and Derek; 15 grandchildren; brothers Larry (Karen) Shelton, Jerry (Kay) Copeland and Torry (Anne) Ruffridge; sister Diane (James) Dearduff; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Midge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Copeland and Dotty Ruffridge; a sister, Cherie Hardy; and an infant granddaughter, Taylor.
Garry was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minn., and had lived in this area for many years.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Garry's name.
