Cope, Harold D.
CEDAR RAPIDS - Harold D. Cope, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died at St. Luke's Hospital, Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland Church of the Nazarene, by the Rev. Dave King. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Larry (Pam) Cope of Marion, Linda (Gene) Parks of Palo and Cindy (Michael) Terry of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Slife of Center Point. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Judy Tatro; a brother, Walter Cope; and grandson, Aaron Terry.
Harold was born June 13, 1927, in Paullina, to Byron and Sarah Cope. He married Joyce Nelson on Jan. 14, 1948, in Cedar Rapids. She died in 1995. He was a flooring installer for over 40 years. He then worked for the Abbe Center for 15 years. Harold was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Oakland Church of the Nazarene.
