Cook, Mary L.
Mary L. Cook, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Burial: Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Ivan Nienhaus will officiate.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Melvin E. Cook; a daughter, Mary Jean Prull of Cedar Rapids; a son, Robert (Denise) Cook of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren, Tara Thompson, Shara Goodrich, Brian Prull, Ami Prull, Jeremy Cook, Dan Cook and Nate Cook; and nine great-grandchildren.
Her parents; a brother, Bill Dahlem; and a great-grandson, Shane Prull preceded her in death.
Mary was born Oct. 30, 1918 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles and Lila Dahlem. She married Melvin E. Cook on Sept. 19, 1942, at St. Patrick's Church in Cedar Rapids. Mary was a graduate of St Patrick's and a life long member of the church.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
