Cook, Kenneth A.
Kenneth A Cook, 91, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Graveside services will be at a later date at Oakland Cemetery. Per Ken's wishes, his body was donated to the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics.
Ken was born in Manchester on Jan. 31, 1920. He was united in marriage to Alice Mae Satterlee on April 7, 1947, who preceded him in death.
Ken served with the United States Army, Pacific Theater, during World War II. Ken was a past member of the Manchester Fire Department and enjoyed fishing, reading and golfing in his later years.
Ken is survived by three children, Marie (LeRoy) Johnston, Lynda (Chris) Carlson and Deborah (Tom) Plant; four grandchildren, Robert “Bob” Johnston, Dawn (Jeff) Gable, Nathan Carlson and Thomas (Dana) Plant; two great-grandchildren, Jenna Gable and Thomas Plant; and one sister, Hazel Wilson.
