Cook, John Arnold
Funeral services for John Arnold Cook, 67, of Tipton, who died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, with Father David Hitch officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church before the funeral service. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.
John was born Jan. 20, 1945, at Hershey Hospital in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of James Russell and Maxine Dorothy Hanft Cook. He was a graduate of Tipton High School. On Oct. 22, 1966, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Yvonne Blake in Lancaster, Mo. John was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, farmer, machinist and a security guard for General Mills. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton.
John will be deeply missed by his wife, Carolyn Cook of Tipton; daughters: Pamela Sue Cook (Gary) Zaruba, and their sons, Blake and Tyler, of Davenport; Katherine Ann Cook (Darrell) Harms, and their children, Danielle and Dalton, of Tipton; Deborah Dawn Cook Wendt, and daughters, Courtney and Skylar, of West Liberty; son, Kevin John (Andrea) Cook, and children, Cassandra (and her children, Joshua and Odin) Perez, Christopher, Amanda and Brandon of Augusta, Mich.; brothers, James (Connie) Rusty, Steven, and Danny Cook of Parnell, David (Sally) Tammy, Travis, Trampus Cook of Deep River; Max's children, Michael and Michelle of Williamsburg; and through the loss of a faithful friend, John and Carolyn inherited daughters, Suzanne, Kathryn, Sandra and Jennifer Starits and their families of 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Max and Gary; and his in-laws, who he also considered his parents; son-in-law, Darrell Harms; inherited son, Christopher; and inherited grandson, Joseph.
