Constance J. "Connie" Breitbach, 68, of Cascade, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at 4:55 a.m., at Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center. Services for Connie will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade with the Rev. Aloysius Vorwald presiding. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade.
Connie was born June 2, 1950, in Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy (Ruley) Picray. Connie received her education in the Monticello area schools. On Feb. 17, 1968, she was united in marriage to Gerald "Fritz" Breitbach at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello. She was employed at Georgia Pacific in Monticello until her retirement in 2011.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting casinos, cooking, baking and especially canning foods. She loved taking bus trips to the many area casinos.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Breitbach of Cascade; two sons, Joe (Stacie) Breitbach of Monticello and Steve (Amy) Breitbach of Ankeny; three grandchildren, Clint, Zach and Ava: one brother, Ron (Jane) Picray of Monticello; one sister, Judy (Duane) Sternhagen of Hopkinton; and three sisters-in-law, Sharon "Potts" Meyer of East Dubuque, Ill., Lois (Rick) Scott of Epworth and Vickie (Stu Hetherington) Holub of Mesa, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eugene Picray Jr.; and one sister, Marlene Moats.
