Connie Lee Stewart, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Memorial services at 11 a.m. Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son James; daughter, Jennifer Ellis; her mother, Margaret Schmidt; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Phyllis and Jacquelyn.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband and brother.
Connie was born on March 9, 1945, in Charles City, the daughter of Harlan and Margaret Wegner Schmidt. She married Richard A. Stewart on April 19, 1963, in Anamosa. Richard passed away in 2014.
Connie was a gifted seamstress and quilter. She loved antiquing, reading and watching her Cubs play baseball.
