Connie Jo Goldsberry, 77, of Solon, passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at Shueyville United Methodist Church, with inurnment to follow in Oakland Cemetery, Solon.
Connie was born Nov. 17, 1945, in Anamosa, the daughter of Delbert and Lois (Lorenzen) Fisher. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Stanwood, Class of 1963, and attended nursing school at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids after graduation. Connie was united in marriage to James Goldsberry, the love of her life, on April 2, 1966, and they shared many adventures together, as she loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. Connie was an active member of Shueyville United Methodist Church for many years and worked for College Community School District for 32 years before retiring.
Connie was the kindest, most caring person, and anyone who knew her would attest to the impact she made in their lives and the smiles she left behind. She was loved so dearly and will be greatly missed.
Connie is survived by her husband; children, Kelly Cheney and Ty Goldsberry; five grandchildren, Alyssa (Jake) Stratton, Kaylee (Travis) Lenz, Andrew Cheney, Shae (Brandon) Kramer and Grant Goldsberry; four great-grandchildren, Sullivan and Sawyer Lenz and Walker and Colt Stratton; and her sisters, Becky (Al) Ahrens and Kathy (Jim) Schumacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Don Goldsberry.
Memorials may be directed to Shueyville United Methodist Church.
