Connie Jean Abbott Robertson passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, following a courageous battle from complications of multiple seizures and a recent stroke. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Service of Columbus Junction. Burial will follow the service at Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the funeral home.
Connie was born in Winfield, Iowa, April 22, 1941, to Gaylord and Cecile Abbott. She grew up in Fairfield, graduating from Fairfield High School in 1959. Connie attended AIC Business School in Davenport, graduating with a business degree.
Connie married the love of her life, Larry Robertson, on Nov. 18, 1962. They were married for 60 wonderful years. Connie’s greatest joy was her family. Together Connie and Larry raised four children, taking an active role in their lives as well as their grandchildren's. She traveled with Larry to many beautiful places, always returning with entertaining stories and photos. Connie loved music and always had it playing at home, whether she was at the piano, the record player or practicing for Sweet Adelines.
Connie's strong faith, friendly style and incredible resilience are just a few of her special qualities that will be remembered and celebrated. Her Christian values and love for family were the foundation for how she lived each day. Connie was a member of Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church.
Connie is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Sheri (Jon) Austin, Wendy (Brian) Frese and Molly (Christopher) Brischetto; son, John "Jay" (Susie) Robertson; and grandchildren, Taylor, Sabrina, Julia, Rylie, Lexi, Mia, Nathan, Justin, Kinsley, Trace and Cal.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joyce Sandberg.
