Connie Grassi, 55, of Anamosa, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church in rural Monticello. Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. The Rev. Wade Reddy will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the Wayne Zion Cemetery, rural Monticello.

Surviving her are two daughters, Jennie (Lucas Meyer) Grassi of Wyoming, Iowa, and Katie Grassi and fiancee Chelsea Gooden of Carterville, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Christena (Chris) Callahan of Indialantic Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Blakelyn and Mackson Meyer, and Aidan and Rowan Callahan; her mother, Janet Engelbart; two brothers, Jeff Engelbart (Teresa) and Russ Engelbart (Penny), all of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary, in 2013; and her father, Galen, in 2003.
Connie Marie Engelbart was born on June 7, 1963, at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Galen and Janet (Steuri) Engelbart. Connie graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools with the Class of 1981. Over the years, she worked at Family Foods in Anamosa, Sally's On Broadway in Springville, and drove a bus for Anamosa Community schools. Her main occupation was parts and warranty manager at Lasso ERV Sales and Service.
Connie married Gary Grassi on Aug. 12, 1989, at the Anamosa Bow Hunters Club. Connie and Gary loved hunting and fishing together. They were habitat partners for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, served as committee members on the Hawkeye Area RMEF Chapter, members of the Anamosa Bowhunters Club, senior members of the Pope and Young Club, and members of B.A.S.S., Iowa Bowhunters Association, Ducks Unlimited and Sponsor and Life members of RMEF.
She loved to ride her motorcycle, go camping, mushroom hunting, horses, rodeos and the Great Jones County Fair. She also hosted a holiday cookie baking party every year and helped her mother organize the preparation of 25 gallons of sweet corn for the Wayne Zion Harvest Festival. In school, she was active in FFA and 4H with the Jackson Wise Owls.
