Constance "Connie" (Sievers) Carson, 74, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Hospice of the Valley, Sun City, Ariz., following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at First Congregational Church, Anamosa. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Anamosa. The Rev. Greg Griffin will officiate the services. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at Goettsch Funeral Home.

Surviving are her husband, Herbert; two children, Rhonda (Greg) Osterhaus, Oneida, Ill., and Dan (Denise) Nolan, Cedar Rapids; two stepchildren, Mike (Debra) Carson and Sherrie (Jim) Thurston, both of Anamosa; four grandchildren, Dillon Nolan and fiancee Mindy, Conner Nolan, Michael Woodman and Nichole Henderson; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Pauley and Roslyn Henderson; six stepgrandchildren, Sarah Geiter, Jennifer Thurston, David Carson, Kelly Postel, Danielle Carson and Rose Carson; and three sisters, Fran Aldershof, Cedar Rapids, JoAnne (Jim) Ricklefs, Monticello, and Linda (Terry) Barger, Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ray Nolan; a great-grandson, Odin Henderson; and a stepgranddaughter, Crystal Carson.
Constance Sue Sievers was born Aug. 5, 1941, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of John and Lucille (Fluckiger) Sievers. She graduated from Anamosa Community Schools in 1959. Connie continued her education at Mount Mercy School of Nursing and then worked as a nurse at Anamosa Hospital for several years. She married Ray Nolan on Feb. 18, 1967. He would precede her in death on Feb. 7, 1981. Connie and Herbert Cason were married Feb. 14, 1988, at Mesa, Ariz. The couple wintered in Arizona and spent the summers in Anamosa.
Connie had been employed at Collins Radio, Doer Electric and worked as a waitress at the Rainbow Supper Club.
Connie was a tireless volunteer, starting with the Anamosa Ambulance Service in the 1970s, Banner Boswell Hospital in Sun City and United Church of Christ in Sun City, where she made scubbies and comfort quilts. She served on the Sun City Car Club board and was president of the Shuffle Board Club at the Bell Rec Center. She had an extra class rating for ham radios. She had been active in 4-H as child and showed Brown Swiss cattle. Then as an adult she served as a 4-H leader and a Boy Scout den mother.
