CONNIE (YANCEY) ASTOR-LOFTUS

Connie Elaine (Yancey) Astor-Loftus, 68, of Grundy Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, in Denver, Iowa.
Connie was born April 19, 1948, the daughter of Lawrence E. Yancey and Pearl "Kay" (Cover) Yancey. She was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids. She married Dennis Astor on Oct. 1, 1966. She worked as a receptionist for Drs. Myers, Manville, Livin and Tieg, Speed Print and Norand Corp., all in Cedar Rapids.
She relocated to Grundy Center in 1980 and worked at NCM for 29 years. She married Dave Loftus in 1983.
Survivors include four children, Todd Astor of Center Point, Shelby Astor of Cedar Rapids, Colt Loftus of Grundy Center and Jessica (Nick) Suender of Reinbeck; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence (Chris) Yancey of Mechanicsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In her spare time, Connie enjoyed crafts and beading. She was a member of the Black Muzzle Loader Association.
Connie's body was cremated. Burial of remains will be at a later date in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Clarksville. There will be no formal services.
