Connie A. (Brady) Hultquist, 74, passed away at the Anamosa Care Center on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Connie was born on March 10, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late, Francis and Velma (Canady) Brady. Connie was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1964. In 1966, Connie married James Hultquist in Anamosa, Iowa. Connie lived her life for her husband and her children. She was a writer with several books to her name including Happy Housewifery, Dear Christmas Mothers and Dear Kitchen Saints, as well as several articles written in the Above Rubies magazine.
Those left to cherish Connie's memory are her children, James of Melbourne, Australia, Christiane (Jason Grisell) of New York, John of Illinois, Daniel (Amy) of Austin, Texas, Mary of Hastings, Neb., and the late David Hultquist; daughter-in-law, Tiffiney Hultquist; her grandchildren, Romeo, Kambree, Anastasia, David, Bella, Ben, Faith, Franny, Amelia, Magnolia and Birdie Rose Hultquist; her brothers, Kirk and Scott Brady; many nieces, nephews and friends. Connie was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents; her son, David; and a granddaughter, Chloe Faye.
The family would like to thank Connie's best friend, Jill Jencks, for all the wonderful years together, and also the entire staff at the Anamosa Care Center, and the Above and Beyond Hospice staff for all the love and support they showed Connie while she was in their care.
