Cones, Louise W. (Leonard)

Louise W. (Leonard) Cones, 86, a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, in Cooks, Mich. Graveside Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville, by the Rev. Clair Leonard.

Survivors include her son, William (Margaret) Cones of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Margaret (Gary) Metzger of Hoschton, Ga., Arleeta (Harless) Clemons and Vera Cones, both of Michigan; grandchildren, Jill (Mike) Jones, Melissa Cones, Gary Sievertsen, Shane Simmons and William Cones; nine great-grandchildren, Alex, Justin, Kelsey, Lakin, Valerie, Chase, Esbell, Max and River; siblings, Georgia Langton and William Leonard, both of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Christle Leonard of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; brother, Clarence Leonard; and two sisters, Geri Cupp and Frances Leonard.

Born Oct. 29, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, Louise was the son of W.F. and Grace (Kilts) Leonard. On April 2, 1946, Louise was united in marriage to William Cones in Cedar Rapids. She worked at the Times Theater and Stouffers Hotel before retiring in the mid-1990s.

Louise will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
