Collingwood, Jean Josephine
Jean Josephine Collingwood died surrounded by family on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 90 years.
Jean was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Plains, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Anna Kozior. She attended school in Pennsylvania. Jean was united in marriage to Russell E. Collingwood on April 3, 1945, in New Jersey. After their marriage they moved west of Williamsburg, where they farmed.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was active in the UMW. Jean enjoyed volunteering, belonging to the Merry Monkeys Makers and the Ugly Quilt Group, gardening, doing crafts, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Russell (Anne) Collingwood of Williamsburg; a daughter, JoAnn (Charles) Nester of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, James Collingwood, Kelly Collingwood, Katie Nester, Carl Nester and Jana Nester; a brother, Stanley Kozior of New Jersey; and special friends of the family, David, Bonnie, Faith Adele and Caroline Kinkead of Williamsburg.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Ann; brother, Andy; and sister, Mary Ann.
Celebration of Life service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Pastor James Parks will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are the St. Paul United Methodist Church.
