Colleen J. Albers died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with the Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating. Interment will be at Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
A memorial fund has been established.
Colleen was born May 15, 1933, in Keystone to Rudy and Viola Hadachek. She graduated from Clutier High School in 1951 and was a proud member of the Clutier Charging Czechs girls basketball team. On Nov. 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to Roy Albers in Dysart. Roy and Colleen were proud to farm on the Albers Century Farm near Keystone before their retirement.
Colleen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, the Keystone American Legion Auxiliary and the Turnerettes. In her leisure time, she enjoyed fishing and playing couples golf. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Denny (Wendy) Albers of Keystone, Janet Albers (Kevin Fox) of Cedar Rapids and Bill (Jeanie) Albers of Keystone; her grandchildren, Tyler (Suzi), Todd (Caliope), Nathan (Alyssa), Ethan (Mallory), Keaton (Ashley), Garret, Madison and Brenna, her late grandson, John's wife; her great-grandchildren, Jade, Casen, Jacksen, Scarlet, Cael, Adam, Ayla, Ivy, Elaina, Theo and Kane; her sister, Audrey Papesh of Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Connie Koeppen of Solon and Frances Koeppen Fisher of Van Horne; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; grandson, John Albers; brothers, Dean and Eugene Koeppen; and her brother-in-law, Melvin Papesh.
The family expresses their gratitude to the Keystone Care Center and Pastor Wright for the care and concern given to Colleen.
