Coleson, Boyd Chester
Boyd Chester Coleson, 82, of Manchester, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at the Edgewood Convalescent Home. Mass of resurrection: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester, with the Rev. John Flaherty as celebrant. Interment, with military rites: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Manchester. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, with a Scripture service at 6 p.m., and also after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 64 years, Erma Coleson of Manchester; his five children, Richard (Gail) Coleson of Ely, Linda (Dale) Trott of Clinton, Daniel (Bonnie) Coleson of Cedar Rapids, Kathryn (Dave) Horner of Waukee, and Denise (Tim) Larson of West Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Janice (Jerry) Everitt of Strawberry Point; and one sister, Marilyn (Frank) Shultz of South Carolina.
Boyd was preceded in death by his eldest son, David; his parents; one brother, Bill; and two sisters, Erma Jean and Sandra.
