Cole, Norma J.
Norma J. Cole, 86, of Marion, died at home Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Marion, by the Rev. Mike Morgan. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis (Richard) Corum of Springville and Jean (Darwin) Schuttloffel of Marion; stepsons, Gary (Tracy) Cole, Howard (Shirley) Cole, Larry Cole and Roger Cole; grandchildren, Vickie, Richard, Bryan, Lori, Susan, Scott and Allan; 22 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ed Roff; sister, Doris Cooksley; and grandson, Bob Corum.
Norma was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Missouri, to Cecil and Opal (Cary) Roff. She was a very devoted employee of Penney's and Rockwell Collins, retiring in 1988.
She loved to be around people. Norma belonged to the Eagles, Elks, and IBEW. She liked to dance, eat out with her friends, and go to auctions and garage sales. Norma was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Marion. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and loved to brag about them.
