Cole, Judith Ann
Judith Ann Cole, 70, of Manchester, died Aug. 9, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Judy was born July 15, 1943, in Masonville, the daughter of William and Vivian (Hannah) Ryan. She was raised and educated in the Masonville area, and graduated from Manchester High School in 1961.
Judy was united in marriage to Floyd Cole on June 2, 1962, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Masonville. Five children were born to this union. Together they resided in Manchester. Judy worked as an aide for the West Delaware School and then was employed by the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. Floyd died Aug. 23, 2003, and Judy remained in Manchester.
Judy was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Judy loved her family and especially enjoyed attending the activities of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with the “Porch Pigeons.”
Judy will be sadly missed by her five children, Mike (Lori) Cole, Mary (Mitch) Boeckenstedt, Alan (Kim) Cole, Kristi (Brad) Ketchum and Connie (Steve) DeSotel, all of Manchester; 13 grandchildren, Molly, Hannah and Kyle Cole, Brett, Michelle, Elise and Brynn Boeckenstedt, Riley Cole, Nick, Chris and Carlee Ketchum and Ryan and Shelby DeSotel; a great-grandson, Grayson Floyd Boeckenstedt; and one brother-in-law, Dave (Cookie) Cole of Manchester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Vivian Ryan; and her husband, Floyd.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. The Rev. Joseph Schneider and monsignor Ralph Simington will officiate. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, with a 3 p.m. Scripture service, and also one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
