Retired U.S.A.F. Col. Richard M. Corbett, 89, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Vinton, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Albuquerque. Graveside services: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Surviving are his children, Gayle Chaney and Steve Corbett; and a brother, Dr. Oran Corbett.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Corbett; his second wife, Patricia Corbett; brother, Ben Corbett; and sister, Evelyn Dunston.
Born in Vinton, Iowa, to Luverne and Wilhelmina Corbett, "Dick" served 25 years in the Air Force as a test pilot. He was a fighter pilot in Vietnam and retired from the service in 1975.
