CODY HENRY
Cedar Rapids
Cody (Seamus) James Henry was funny, easy
going, kind and incessantly charming. Despite all of the qualities he contributed to make this world a
better place, he took his own life earlier this week.
Cody was born on May 17, 1996, in Cedar Rapids. He went to school at Prairie throughout his educational career. He became a successful, confident leader while participating in the G2 and e-car programs in high school. He graduated from Prairie High School in 2014.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Alison Boxwell; and their fur baby, Rocky; his parents, JJ Henry and Kim Henry; his brother, Javin; his sister, Jen; and brother-in-law, Andy; his grandparents, Sheryl and Verle Reid and Janice and Jerry Everitt; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; and an amazing group of friends.
Cody enjoyed physical fitness and his Jeep Cherokee. A natural musician, he sang and played the
guitar with his characteristic ease. Cody cared for
others and could be
counted on for almost anything, help on a project,
advice on a vast array of subject
matters, tech support, a good laugh during tough times, a shoulder to cry on and a whole lot of fun. He was almost always upbeat and making big plans for the future. Cody inspired and entertained so many people during his short lifetime. It is difficult to
imagine that a young man surrounded by so many people who loved him
dearly, could have ever felt so alone, but somehow he did. He is and will always be missed.
A celebration of Cody's life will be held at the Parkview Pavilion in Jones Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
A memorial fund has been established in Cody's name through Collins
Credit Union.
