Cody “Charly” Thomas was born February 22, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the child of Robert Thomas and Christina (LeHew) Thomas. Charly graduated from Williamsburg High School in 2012 and worked as a Client Relation Consultant at US Bank in Waterloo. Charly loved music, rocking out at concerts, traveling and spending time with family. Charly died Thursday, October 17, 2024, at home in Cedar Rapids, due to an apparent heart attack at the age of 30 years.
Charly is survived by parents Robert Thomas of Cedar Rapids; Christina Thomas of Williamsburg; sister Sarah (Ed) Rogness of Williamsburg; niece Braelynn and one on the way; grandmother Geraldine LeHew of Walker; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Charly was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Kenneth LeHew, paternal grandparents Will J. and Esther L. Thomas and stepfather David Rowe.
A Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg from 4:00-7:00 pm with a service beginning at 6:30 pm. A general memorial fund has been established.
