Cnossen, Billy Eugene

Billy Eugene Cnossen, 90, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at his residence following a brief illness.

Celebration of life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Yoder officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Interment with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29 will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for senior dining at the Washington Community Y.

He is survived by five children including daughter, Mary Jo Turnipseed and husband, Jon, of Apple Valley, Calif., son, Jim Cnossen and wife, Linda, of Robins, Iowa, daughter, Joan Barrios and husband, Luis, of Clinton, Iowa, daughter, Jean Glandon and husband, Terry, of Washington, Iowa, daughter, Sara Ross and husband, Andy, of Washington, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his half sister, Peg Moore, of Urbandale, Iowa; and half sister, Connie Thomson, of Des Moines, Iowa.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia in 1971; wife, Tresa in 2005; one son, Michael Cnossen in 1999; and his brother, Owen Cnossen.
