Clyda Ellistene Carpenter, 88, of Monti-cello, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at Monticello Nursing & Rehab Center. Services will be at a later date.
Clyda was born March 12, 1926, to her parents, Ellis and Eva (Heald) Stanley, in Whittier, Iowa. She graduated from Olney Friends School, Barnes-ville, Ohio, and became a fabricator for Rockwell. She married Howard Carpenter on Nov. 11, 1944.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; their children, Alan (Leslie Parker) Carpenter and Paul (Belinda Drtirna) Carpenter, both of Washington state, and Amy (Chuck) Carpenter Wilcox and David (Kandi Kahl) Carpenter, both of Anamosa; a daughter-in-law, Diona Carpenter; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Stanley Carpenter; a granddaughter, Lori; and her sisters, Lorene, Irma, Hazel and Wilma.
