Clint A. Straw, 24, of Lamont, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at his home.
He was born June 3, 1990, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Paul Gordon and Sandra Kay (Schmitz) Straw. He graduated from high school in Independence with the class of 2008. He worked for MJR Construction as a framer. He enjoyed time spent fishing and playing golf. He also was an accomplished mixed martial arts participant with several area clubs.
Clint is survived by his parents, Paul (Machelle) Straw of Marion and Sandra (Steve) McMurrin of Independence; one brother, Daniel (Megan) Straw of Independence; one sister, Jessica Faust of Independence; one half brother, Jordan Cornwell of Independence; one half sister, Paige Cornwell of Independence; one stepgrandmother, Patricia Schmitz of Tipton; four nephews; and one niece.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, at Wolfey's Wapsi Outback in Quasqueton with the Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Quasqueton Cemetery in Quasqueton.
