Cline, Mabel V.
Mabel V. Cline, 87, of Decorah, formerly of Hopkinton, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Winneshiek County Medical Center, Decorah, following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Hopkinton Community Church, with interment in Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Hopkinton.
Surviving are seven children, Diana (Charles) Johnson, Decorah, Linda Cline and Jim (Claire Hanson) Cline, both of Cedar Rapids, Nancy (Kenny) Williams, Debra (Ronald) LeClere, Trudy Michels, all of Hopkinton, and Peter Cline, Manchester; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard in 1999; a son, Michael on Nov. 2, 1994; a great-grandson; and five brothers.
Mabel V. Peters was born July 31, 1924, at Oneida, Iowa, the daughter of William and Pearl (Brown) Cline. She graduated from the Buck Creek High School. Mabel Peters married Richard Cline on Nov. 21, 1946, at Hopkinton. The couple lived in the Cedar Rapids, Hopkinton and Delhi areas. They farmed near Hopkinton for a brief time. Mabel worked at the Ertl Toy Co. in Dyersville until she retired. She moved to Decorah in 2007 and became a resident at Aase Haugen Home in June 2011.
