Clayton Lonnie Daywitt, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at his son's home. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Burial with military honors: Linwood Cemetery.
Clayton was born Oct. 23, 1946, the son of Clayton and Cathryn (Primrose) Daywitt, in Cedar Rapids. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1967. Clayton worked for Iowa Manufacturing for 45 years before retiring. He greatly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. A great hobby of Clayton's was "Quality Control" at Rumors with friends. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Clayton Douglas Daywitt, Ginger Dales and Lance (Jennifer) Daywitt; and grandchildren, Roman, Justice and Kendra Daywitt and Alex and Shelby Dales.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Daywitt; grandson, Clayton Daywitt; parents and brother, Danny Daywitt.
