Clay, Amy L.
Amy L. Clay, 47, of Marion, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, with a one-hour visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel. Visitation also will be held Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the chapel. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Amy is survived by her husband, Greg Clay, and daughter, Alexis Clay, both of Marion; parents, Roger and Katie Steffen of Luxemburg; her siblings, Sherri (Jeff) Steffen of Luxemburg, Pat (Patty) Steffen of Luxemburg, Mike Steffen (Joan Sigwarth) of Holy Cross, Sandy (Daryl) Klein of Rickardsville and Susie (Tom) Schmitt of Holy Cross; brothers-in-law, Mark Clay of Cedar Falls and Bret (Donna) Clay of Lacona; beloved nieces and nephews, Angie, Amanda, Christie, Kyle, Amber, Ashley, Jerry Jr., Stacey, Nick, Katlin, Scott, Tracy, Joe and Ashley; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; many beloved friends; and her special companions, dogs, Bella and Rose.
Amy L. Clay was born March 11, 1966, in Dubuque, Iowa, the beloved daughter of Roger and Katie Steffen. Amy was married to her lifelong companion of 25 years on July 4, 2003, in Harpers Ferry. Following high school graduation she attended UNI and received her bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising. Amy worked as a manager at Victoria's Secret.
Amy's greatest joy was her daughter, Alexis, and husband, Greg.
She was an artist, enjoyed crafts and sewing. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt who would do anything for her daughter, Alexis; nieces and nephews; and her many family and friends.
Words cannot express the lasting memory she will leave upon her family and friends. Her presence, advice, leadership and love will never be forgotten by them, her extended family, or anyone she became friends with.
Amy is now reunited with her mother-in-law and father in-law, Dave and Dorothy Clay, and several cherished family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
