Clarke, Elizabeth L.
Elizabeth L. Clarke, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died July 6, 2011, at Living Center East following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are her children, Robert Freeman and wife Barb of Swisher, Terry Freeman and friend Jim of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Martens and husband Dennis of Cedar Rapids, Patricia Matthews and husband Peter of London, England and Debra Gradford of Cedar Rapids; her stepsons, Jack Clarke and wife Nancy and Ron Clarke and wife Terry, all of Branson, Mo.; her brother, Don McCauley and wife Alice of Prior Lake, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; and her brothers, William and Rosewell.
Elizabeth Louise Clarke was born March 4, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Ina (Fauchier) McCauley. She was united in marriage to Donald R. Clarke on Aug. 18, 1943, in Cambridge, Ill. Donald preceded her in death in 1992. She was employed for over 27 years as a meat cutter in the loin department at Wilson's Packing Co.
She enjoyed traveling and trips to casinos. Above all, her greatest enjoyment was time with her family whom she loved dearly.
She will be greatly missed.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the memorial fund established in Elizabeth's honor.
